Dear Mad'm Days - Celebrating the Book & Honoring the Life and Writing of Stella Walthall Patterson

The book, Dear Mad'm, by Stella Walthall Patterson, has been loved by readers for more then fifty years.  When it was published in 1956, it became a popular book club selection throughout the USA and internationally!

Years later, people in Happy Camp, California and areas nearby in the Klamath River Valley still love the book, Dear Mad’m! It is one of the most popular books in town! It tells the story of a remarkable woman who decided, on her 80th birthday, to move to a remote mining claim south of Happy Camp on the Klamath River.

The 5th Annual Dear Mad’m Day celebration in Happy Camp, California takes place October 2015 if we have enough interest and reservations. Events will start Friday evening with readings of Writings on the Life Along the Klamath, will highlight the luncheon on Saturday, and will continue through Sunday. A Writing Contest for young people was held for the first time last year and more writer's stories will be shared.
